The Clare Depot

The Clare Union Railroad Depot, with its distinctive turret and Queen Anne architecture, has been a distinctive and important part of this Mid-Michigan community for more than 120 years. From 1894 until its closing in the 1950s, untold thousands of lumberjacks, farmers, businessmen, families, soldiers, and tourists passed through its doors.
With help and donations from people and local businesses, the Depot has been restored to its former glory. It is the home of the Clare Chamber of Commerce, the Clare County Arts Council, and the Railroad Museum. It also serves as the trailhead for the Pere Marquette Rail Trail.
The gift shop is open 10am-4pm Monday through Friday and also has summer hours.
